Getting by…
… with a little help from my friends.
I think it’s safe to say the pandemic has hit all of us pretty hard. The sense of isolation can feel crushing at times, even for those of us who are introverts by nature. Stuck in our homes, some of us embraced the wonders of modern technology to connect online and help each other through.
Kris, Maryann, Caitlyn, Cat, and I were friends before COVID. We’d done projects together, were in many of the same FB groups, and met up at various conferences and events.
One day, someone said something in a chat box about wishing we could all meet together for coffee, and boom! We did our first virtual coffee klatsch shortly after.
We enjoyed it so much, we decided to make it a weekly thing.
We show up as we are, dressed in whatever, without makeup, hair a mess, coffee in hand, without judgement, and just talk. About our families. The weather. Pets. Home repair. A new recipe. What’s driving us crazy at any given point in time.
Sometimes, we even talk about books. I guess it’s not really surprising that when you put five authors together who get along so well and have so much in common, a new series is the result. And I have to tell you, based on what we’ve come up with so far, it’s going to be awesome.
The series will consist of five books. Each one will be a stand-alone, novel-length romance linking back to one of our existing series and featuring a military hero. The premise: the heroes are headed home from active service when a massive storm throws them all together for a while. From there, they’ll each go their separate ways, but you can bet they’re going to stay in touch. Much more to come on this, but the good news is, they’re all up for pre-order! Book one (Kris’s book) comes out July 13th, with a new book releasing every 3 weeks until the end.

I can tell you that, even though we finally seem to be clawing our way back to some sense of normalcy, we have no plans to discontinue our weekly coffee klatsches. We simply have too much fun. And who knows? Maybe these collaborations will even become a regular thing 😉
