You Don’t Know Jack

April 15, 2016

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000040_00003]… But you will after you read the newest addition to my popular Callaghan Brothers series 🙂 Forever Mine is the long-awaited 9th book in the series, the story of the patriarch of the clan, Jack Callaghan.

This was easily the most difficult book I’ve ever written. Not only is it an emotional roller coaster, many things about Jack’s story hit very close to home (as you’ll read in the personal notes at the end, if you read that kind of stuff).

Beyond that,it’s different than anything else I’ve done. Written entirely from one person’s point of view (Jack’s), the book alternates between the past and present. The story is a complex weave of what you already know from the first 8 books and what you didn’t. For example, you find out why Kathleen shot Jack. And why there are two Michaels in the family (Callaghan and Connelly). And how Jack got involved in special ops. And… well you get the idea.

In addition, you get reacquainted with the whole gang, and get to see the Callaghan boys as children (Hint: their adult personalities aren’t much different than their boyhood personalities).

If you are a fan of the Callaghan series, then you already know there are going to be some gut-wrenching moments. But rest assured, there’s plenty of love and laughter to go with those tears. So grab a box of tissues, find a quiet place, and enjoy Jack’s story…

Thank you for writing this book. I woke up at 5:30 and saw it was there, on my Kindle and started reading. I don’t think that I’ll be putting this one down. I just love the Callaghan’s, they seem just like my family.

You are very welcome, Assunta. I hope you enjoy reading it half as much as I enjoyed writing it. <3

Thank you for Jack and Kathleen’s story, wasn’t sure about it when I pre-ordered the book, thank full that I did! Beautiful, coming home, the linking of the families in the previous books, the why for the boy’s are who they are, laughter and tears, going back to the beginning, and now again I am going back to the first book, again to re-read the series.
Thankyou for a wonderful famiky to read, awaiting more.

Thank you Abbie, it was a lovely story and filled in so many gaps. I lay in bed sobbing last night because I couldn’t bear not to finish it in one sitting. What’s next? I can’t wait!

I’m glad you liked it! It was a tough one for me, that’s for sure. I’ve got some ideas for some additions to the series, but nothing solid yet. I do have a new paranormal series that I’m launching in June.

Thank you so much for writing this book. As soon as it appeared on my Kindle I started reading and couldn’t put it down. I had to read parts twice as I couldn’t see through the tears the first time. Now I’m going to start the whole series again and relive it all. It was so good to see the history of the family and friends. Keep up the good work. I loved the Connelly Cousins series as well.

Thank you so much! (I had the same trouble when writing it) <3

Loved the book. Soooo glad you didn’t give Jack a new love. I laughed and cried reading this one. GREAT book.

    Thank you so much!

Great book! Now it would be nice to haverify the boys relive some of their stories as children in relation to their children.

Thanks! Sounds like a great idea for the next generation of Callaghan stories 🙂

I was wondering how on earth one would pull off a HEA with this one not ending in Jack going down a road I wasn’t ready for him to travel. You did and it was perfect! I don’t usually give 5 stars because they have to be exceptional for me for that. This one fit the bill. Thank you for being true to the character and the story parameters set in the beginning. I adore this family even if I started on the other side of the mountain with Celina’s story first.

Thank you! I’m both honored and flattered <3. Jack's story was a tough one to write, but in the end, there was only one way it could have gone 🙂

Linda Clark

Loved Jack’s story! Thank you for not ending his life. I kept thinking that he was going to die, but the ending was perfect!!

Glad you liked it! I’ve still got plans for that guy 😉
